Katie joined the IOMBN in 2015 and took on the role of the Head of Communications before becoming Vice Chair in 2017 and Chairman in 2018. Katie is the Manager of Bridge, an Angel Investment Network and works with entrepreneurs, mentors and investors to accelerate business growth and nurture entrepreneurship on the Island. In her spare time, Katie volunteers as a Trustee for Victim Support and is a keen hockey player.
Richard joined the committee in 2014 after being an active member of the IOMBN for over 5 years. He is has served as vice-chairman, chairman and now President. As a Senior Account Manager at Aon (Isle of Man) Ltd, he and his team are responsible for some of the Island's largest corporate and commercial insurance broking accounts, dealing with a varied range of insurance placements.
Dearbhla joined the IOMBN in October 2016. She is a Quantity Surveyor and has worked with Dandara between the Isle of Man and Aberdeen since 2011, working on both Commercial and Residential developments. Having recently obtained an MBA through Oxford Brooke’s University, she has a keen interest in entrepreneurship and new business start-ups on the island. Other interests include travelling, outdoor sports and taking part in charity events with Team IOMBN.
As a past Vice-Chairman, Chairman and President (2014 - 2017), Kate has now resumed to normal committee life! She joined the IOMBN with an aim of making the IOMBN a platform for the business community to network and to communicate with one another. Her role as head of marketing sees her working closely with the leadership team to continue to develop the IOMBN brand across the Isle of Man business community. Kate works for Browne Craine & Co and is the firm’s marketing manager.
Alex Wilson joined the Committee in October 2016 and recently assumed the Head of Marketing role, applying 9 years industry experience in brand management, communications, customer engagement and professional event management. Alex works within Bold Marketing Consultancy and is well known for project management of Islexpo under the DfE and for her work at Crossroads Care. Alex is ACIM qualified and runs a monthly coffee meet for CIM IOM alumni alongside IOMBN
Head of Marketing
Clare joined the IOMBN in 2014 and is currently Treasurer. Clare is a Senior Tax Manager at KPMG LLC specializing in UK and IOM corporate tax and is both a chartered accountant and a chartered tax advisor. In her spare time she can often be found enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Having been an IOMBN member for over 2 years, Ben joined the committee at the start of 2016 and works in the social events team. After completing a degree in Economics, Ben joined Aon where he works as an Insurance Manager for a number of multinational clients. Ben is currently studying for a Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma, and spends most of his spare time travelling.
Pauline owns and runs Greenwave Isle of Man and UK, providing business advice, accountancy and tax in both jurisdictions. As a Chartered Accountant Pauline specialises in dealing with business owners and entrepreneurs, particularly in the tech sector. Running her own business doesn’t leave a lot of spare time, but Pauline enjoys the outdoor life with her family particularly on the Island’s many beaches.
Cameron has been part of the IOMBN for a number of years and has seen it grow to its current position and membership. Cameron is a past Chairman and currently works at Sovereign.
Tara joined the committee in September 2016 after having gained a lot from attending the IOMBN’s events for over a year. Tara qualified as an Advocate in December 2013 and works for DQ Advocates. Tara advises on a wide range of corporate and commercial litigation matters but in particular provides advice on contractual disputes, banking and insolvency, corporate and trust disputes, and non-contentious corporate and trust applications. In her spare time Tara enjoys dancing, skiing and generally keeping fit and more importantly spending time with friends and family.
Scott joined the Committee in January 2016. He is a Divisional Director at Cains advocates where he advises companies and financial institutions in all manner of corporate, commercial, structuring and financing transactions, both within the Isle of Man and internationally.
As a past Vice-Chairman, Chairman and President (2014 - 2018) Rachael is proud to continue as a committee member of the IOMBN. Rachael’s year and a half as chairman saw exciting times with the organisation’s re-launch into the Isle of Man Business Network. Rachael is a Senior Tax Manager at SMP Accounting & Tax and is a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser and Chartered Accountant working in UK, International and IOM tax consultancy.
Ellen joined the committee in December 2017, after having thoroughly enjoyed attending various IOMBN events over the previous year. Ellen is a Trainee Advocate at DQ, and having passed her Manx Bar Examinations, she will qualify as a Manx Advocate in October 2018. Ellen is a member of DQ’s charity; social and business development committees, and hopes to bring some of this experience to the IOMBN. Outside of work, Ellen enjoys socialising with friends and family and exploring the island with her two golden retrievers, Nala and Lottie
Chris is a past Chairman and President and has been involved in a variety of capacities including membership and IT. After leaving the armed forces in the late nineties he returned to the Island and started work within the financial services industry, initially within life assurance administration where he qualified as a financial advisor before moving into IT. Chris is currently Head of IT Development at Hansard Global Plc. He successfully completed the IoD Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction last year.
Michael is Director of Quantum Ventures Limited. He has returned to the Island after a long absence in the U.K. and is delighted to be back home and integrating with the vibrant business community on the Island. Apart from the IOMBN, his major interest (in consultation and co-operation with the D.E.D.) is using the contacts he has built up to encourage businesses to start up in or re-locate to the Island. He believes that the outward looking and “can do” attitude he has encountered generally bodes well for the Island’s future prosperity and international profile.
Merita joined Sefton Group plc in 2016, and has a wealth of experience across Marketing, internal and external Communications, international Event Management and Sponsorship. She has spent a large part of her career working at a senior level within Communications in the offshore professional and financial services sector. A trained Broadcast Journalist, she has experience of working in national radio and television, and locally in a PR and creative agency where she managed the accounts of a number of international and tri-Island brands in the telecoms, banking, education and hospitality sectors.
